In the course of obtaining my Master’s Degree from Georgetown University I chose to explore the role of hearing loss and the way people with hearing loss interact with the world around them as part of my capstone or "thesis" project. The paper expanded as I discovered the role technology can play in allowing people to live full lives in a hearing world. Consequently, understanding the challenges and opportunities prompted me to start Project Hearing, an organization that seeks to bridge the gap between information and resources for people with a hearing disability.
In just one year Project Hearing has expanded and currently includes over 350 members who have signed up for our newsletter and is expanding our staff.
Stay tuned, 2018 is set to be amazing.
